Karen Reichard, MSW Candidate 2017

Karen Reichard is a MSW candidate at Tulane’s School of Social Work.  A native New Orleanian, she holds a PhD in French Literature from Tulane and a MA in French from Middlebury College in Vermont.  During her career in Higher Ed, Karen’s focus was primarily on women’s and gender issues. She developed programs to address gender-based violence, women’s leadership, job and pay equity, health and reproductive justice, and civic/political engagement.  She also taught courses on epistemologies, gender roles, feminist theory and women’s studies.  She served as Director of Loyola’s Women’s Resource Center and as Director of Student Leadership Development at the Newcomb College Institute.  Karen has also served on the boards of the Metropolitan Center for Women and Children and the Forum for Equality.  She is currently the Louisiana State Chair for CARE USA’s Action Network.
