Rebecca Jenkins, BA, MSW Candidate 2018
Rebecca Jenkins is a first year student in Tulane’s School of Social Work graduate program and a New Orleans native. She is an alumna of the University of New Orleans where she got her BA in International Studies with an emphasis on International Organizations and Diplomacy. She is interested in trauma research within the context of prison policy, prison culture, violent recidivism, and self-traumatizing cycles of violence. She has a background in social justice within the New Orleans’ community having previously worked with the Juvenile Justice Project of Louisiana and is currently furthering this background as an intern at the Orleans Parish Public Defenders Office. Rebecca hopes to continue to partake in trauma research to find applicable solutions to systemic issues relating to prison policy in Louisiana.
