Center for Disease and Control: Emergency Preparedness & Response

Offers a variety of resources from training, tool-kits for response, guides and much more resources for up-to-date emergency preparedness and response.  

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks. American Red Cross Training: 

American Red Cross offers several courses and training for those interested in gaining experience in many different fields. The website is interactive and allows you to take online or in person courses offered in a specific location. 

The Salvation Armey: Emergency Disaster Services

Preparedness is the first phase of the Emergency Management Cycle. Just like individuals and families must make preparations for potential dangers and threats, so too, disaster workers prepare by participating in training classes. Courses are designed with adult learners in mind that emphasize group interaction and cooperative learning. Training courses include classes in incident management, canteen operations, food service, emotional and spiritual care as well as basic first aid and CPR training.
